If you are facing an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy, we can help. Nearly half of all pregnancies are unintended and we know it can be stressful to find out that you are pregnant when you didn't plan it or don't want to be. Decisions about pregnancy are personal and only you know the right decision for yourself and your family. We trust you to make the decision that is right for you.
Although each person's situation is special, we have found that many people experience some of the same feelings, questions, and concerns when facing an unintended pregnancy. The resources below may help you figure out your own thoughts and feelings and make a decision about your pregnancy.
When you are pregnant, you have three options:
Choosing to parent can be a rewarding experience. Your state, provincial, or local department of social services, family planning clinics, and many physicians have information about prenatal care, delivery, and parenting. Some NAF members also provide prenatal care and birthing options. If you need help with additional resources, call the NAF Referral line at 1-877-257-0012.
If you are considering adoption, there are different arrangements and options for you to consider. It's important to choose a supportive, non-judgemental adoption partner. We recommend the
, a pro-choice adoption agency who
is committed to being the voice for building family for pregnant people, children, and families nationwide.
If you are considering abortion, you are not alone. Overall, 1 in 4 women in the U.S. will have an abortion by the time they’re 45 years old.
If you have questions about abortion or need help finding an abortion provider or with funding assistance, call the NAF Hotline at 1-800-772-9100.
